This course offers
This online course is designed to provide busy human resource professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the six functional areas of human resource management as defined by the profession. You can be anywhere - traveling, work or home. Just log on for eight sessions from 6:30pm-8p.m., February 22 - May 17, 2010. (See class dates below.)
This interactive online course blends synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. Participants in this course will be expected to review the SHRM Learning System materials and complete all online exams as independent study. In addition, participants will participate in regularly scheduled, technology-based instructor led Adobe Connect programs and Blackboard discussions as assigned by the course instructors. The course syllabus and class Blackboard will clearly detail assignments and learning activities to be completed prior to each web-based session.
This award-winning course includes eight sessions for 90-minutes each and serves as a review/study course for those seeking certification as Professional Human Resource (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) through the exam process administered by the Human Resources Certificate Institute (HRCI).

Payment Plan
NIU offers an optional payment plan available to those registering with a credit card payment. Twenty five percent (25%) of course fee is required at the time of registration and any outstanding balance charged to the credit card on file on 2/1/10. Participants who successfully complete the course, including those who choose not to take the HRCI exam, will receive Certificates of Completion from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and 36 contact hours.

Admission and Eligibility of HRCI Exam Candidates: HR Certification Institute requires candidates applying to take the PHR/SPHR certification examinations to have a minimum of two (2) years exempt level HR experience.
