Ward Arntson, CFM

Year became a CFM:  2003

Current Position: IL/WI Region Facilities Supervisor for Verizon Services

Background: Ward came to the FM field in a non-traditional manner. While working as a military maintenance test pilot, his interest was sparked in systematically fixing things. Upon leaving active duty, Ward spent 1989-1996 working in university auxiliary support services at Northwestern University. He made the transition to a full-time FM role in 1996.  Previous to Verizon, he held FM roles with Hewitt Associates LLC and Johnson Controls. Ward is a member of the Army Reserve and lives in Antioch, IL. He and his wife have four children.


Jerry DiCola, CFM

Year became a CFM:  2005
IFMA Chapter: Chicago. Co-chair of the Career Services Committee since 2005; awarded Rookie of the Year Award in 2006

Current Position: Facilities Manager with Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, a 175 intellectual property attorney law firm in Chicago

Background:  Jerry’s job responsibilities include the oversight of 120,000-square-feet of leased space in the NBC Tower. In addition, he manages the law firm’s daily operations of office services, hospitality services, and maintenance and procurement services. Prior to joining the firm in 2004 as Facilities Manager, he had successful careers in human resources, sales and entrepreneurial. His varied work experience has provided the needed background to address and support the various responsibilities of his roles as FM. In November 2005, Jerry earned his Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from DePaul University. 


David King, AIA, CFM

Current Position: President, ICB, LLC

Background: Dave has over 24 years experience as a facility manager and architect, including 14 years as a global facility/real estate executive for companies such as American Medical Association, FMC Corporation, University of Chicago, Heller Financial and GE Commercial Finance. He is a licensed architect and a registered real estate broker in Illinois.  He has a broad range of experience in facility development and management, strategic sourcing, and real estate disposition. He also has worked as a carpenter, corporate asset manager, lead project manager, corporate change agent, and merger and acquisition real estate team leader.

Dave was a member of the Financial Research and Advisory Committee for the Chicago Transit Authority and the Education Advisory Committee for the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg.  He has been published by the National Association of Purchasing Management (Construction Services: “How to Hire the Trades”) and has written several white papers on operational improvement for GE, Kinko’s and Pitney Bowes.

He received his BA from DePaul University in Chicago, with engineering studies at the University of Illinois. 


Mark Kischner Sr., CFM

Current Position: Operations Manager with RREEF, a real estate management company

Background: With over 25 years in facilities management, Mark has worked in the government, retail, hospitality, real estate and other sectors. He has led facility groups for the Village of Glen Ellyn, IKEA retail stores and Hilton Corporation, and has managed facilities ranging from an 1846 tavern on the National Historic Register to a newly-built IKEA. He is a Plan Commissioner in his community, former member of the Oakton Community College Facilities Management and Engineering Advisory Committee, and has been teaching the CFM Review for many IFMA chapters for 10 years. At IFMA’s World Workplace 2002, he accepted the Chapter Award for Professional Development on behalf of the Northern Illinois Chapter.


Ira A. Marcus, CFM, IFMA Fellow

Current Position: Real Estate Manager, Sears Holding Corporation

Background:  Ira has over 25 years of experience in the Facilities Management profession.  During his accomplished career he has focused on strategic planning, portfolio management, facility audits, process improvement and cost control, CRE/FM technology implementation, project management methodology, business continuity, environmental management, and organizational development. 

Ira is a frequent presenter at local and international events on Facility Management, Quality Customer Service, Emergency Response, Ergonomics, Technology Implementation and Career Transitions.  He has written numerous articles for national trade journals and newsletters, and acted as Editorial Advisor for UpWord Publishing's Fire Protection: A Guide For Facility Managers. 


Patricia A. Moonier, CFM and CFMJ

Year became a CFM:  2005

Area Instructing: Quality and Innovation; Business of FM
Current Position: Manager, Contract Requirements, Argonne National Laboratory

Background:  Patricia has 20 years of experience in the Facilities Management profession. She has been awarded for managing quality services, and for creating and implementing innovative solutions. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from DePaul University with a concentration for the latter degree program in facilities management.  Patricia is a registered real estate broker in Illinois, and has been a member of IFMA since 1998.


Kit Tuveson, CFM, IFMA Fellow

Area Instructing: Sustainable FM

Kit is the President of Tuveson & Associates LLC, a facility management consultancy company. His 36-year Hewlett-Packard career included responsible positions in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Line Management, Facilities Management and Environmental Health & Safety. Kit has managed facility teams, global program managers, cross functional teams and served as Global Director Facility Operations and also Global Director of Environmental Health & Safety. He is a graduate of Stanford University with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He served IFMA as Board Chairman (1997-1998). Kit has advised a high-tech start-up company, SynapSense Corp. (Wireless Sensor Monitoring technology and solutions), on FM strategy and implementation; revised the IFMA CFM Exam Review course; developed a new California State University Sacramento Certificate Program on Greening Your Business and Sustainable FM; and lectured at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of San Francisco and Holy Name College.


Ericka Westgard Reilly, CFM

Current Position: Vice President, Facilities, Americas for Johnson Controls, Inc., Global Workplace Solutions

Background: Ericka is a senior leader with over 17 years of diverse facility management experience, including operations, support and consulting in a customer driven industry. She is responsible for strategic direction, management functions, resource utilization and client satisfaction. Ericka is experienced at working in and adapting to challenging environments in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, electrical utilities and pharmaceutical, as well as the corporate sector.
