Real Estate - An IFMA Based Competency Course

Real Estate is a significant part of a company’s financial make-up and a facility manager must be able to manage their portfolio.  This seminar covers selected topics involved in the negotiation, drafting and interpretation of commercial real estate leases.

Learn about the various key components of managing a corporate portfolio such as physical attributes, inventory, budgeting and a basic understanding of Real Estate Master Planning and lease negotiating principles.  A quiz at the end of this course contains questions intended to reflect the content of the Certified Facility Manager® (CFM®) examination.

Identify:

• The basic differences in the various types of real estate leases
• Key outside influences on the real estate portfolio and a company’s decision to buy or lease
• Ways to form a strategy for a master plan
