Operations and Maintenance - An IFMA Based Competency Course

The heart of any FM model is operations & maintenance.  The question is, "How do I define my O & M to fit my organization's culture and be able to manage within it?"  This course covers key models for operations & maintenance in facility management work.  We'll look at the various models for O & M and lay out the critical elements that enable any FM to be successful in the approach to sustaining facilities.

Operations & Maintenance I

• Identify key terms in building operations & maintenance
• Distinguish between in-house, outsourced and out-tasked services
• Define work management
• Develop an O & M plan

Operations & Maintenance II

• Define the key terms regarding maintenance
• Identify types of systems requiring maintenance
• Describe various maintenance methods & approaches

FMP Candidates - This is one of four courses required to earn your Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential from IFMA.  For more information on the FMP credential click here. 

CFM Candidates - This course is designed for Facility Management professionals seeking to enhance their skills in the specialty area of project management.
